Advertising is good—good free advertising is best.

Clearly there is a difference between just advertising, and to advertise successfully — and the difference is meaningful — it's all in the hits! The key to your success is to measure your results.

Some of the ways to measure your results are:
  • If you have your own Websites, you can use any of the many free counters that provide traffic statistics. Notice where your results are coming from and concentrate your efforts there. If you don't pay attention, a lot of time can be wasted. Working is good, working smart is better.

  • If you are in an Affiliate related business that provides free Websites, use something like keycodes that should be available to you as a method of measuring results (a series of numbers or letters you can choose and add to your site address).

The degree to which you will get results depends upon what you are advertising and how you present your product or service. If you decide to give good paid advertising a try, the best advice I can give you here is to use your judgement and research what you do and then measure the results.

A good rule of thumb is to look for advertising opportunities that do not charge more than $25 per month. One method of finding good paid advertising sources is to do a search on your favorite search engines for appropriate keywords. Then look at those pages listed in the top ten and see if you can advertise there. You'll go in knowing that these pages get significant targeted traffic.

An example of a keyword search and an available paid classified site would be:
Do a Google or Yahoo search for 'home business opportunities'. In this case, AlbertaRose Home Based Business Opportunities is ranked at or near number one. So that would be a good place to consider placing a paid ad. Their Website for paid classifieds is here.

Finally a little word of advice and encouragement; if your gut feeling tells you the business you are working is the right one — DON'T GIVE UP!  Keep working at it. Too many good people quit and walk away just before their ship comes in.
